Name: Bone Up Brewing

Location: Everett, MA (part of the recently-christened Fermentation District)

History: This brewery opened a few doors down from Night Shift less than six months ago. They bring people together in a cozy space (Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Robots included as one of the game options) and I love their sense of humor.

Recommended Brews: I’ve sat down here a few times and cranked through some flights to get a taste of all their offerings, and my top pick is the Shut Up Kelly! This is a solid, deep brown porter that brings a nice balance of coffee and chocolate to the front and drinks easy. For something a bit different, try the Extra Naked Cream ale (a rare pick among breweries not named Genesee). While the novelty is what originally drove me to try it, I enjoy this as a light, end of the night offering.

While you're in the area: As mentioned earlier, Bone Up is part of Everett’s new Fermentation District. You can sample homegrown spirits at Short Path Distillery or post up to Night Shift Brewing and enjoy some additional pours. Make a crawl of it. You’re also within a 5-10 mile radius of Mystic Brewery, Idle Hands, and all the food/shopping offerings of Station Landing.
