Name: Mystic Brewery

Location: Chelsea, MA

History: This craft brewery specializes in farmhouse ales and using locally-sourced ingredients. This tucked-away gem is worth it for the gorgeous, cathedral-like space alone, but Mystic is quietly gaining some big street cred as one of the top 10 breweries in the state.

Recommended Brews: Too Metal for the Farmers Market is a really solid strong ale, if you can get your hands on it. The Saison Renaud, Mystic’s flagship, is a great go-to Farmhouse Ale. While Farmhouse is the flagship style of Mystic, they do a great job with all styles, specifically their hazy IPAs like Illegal Dance Moves and the Saturation Session Ale!

While you're in the area: There is an awesome, oft-raved, totally townie pizza joint in Chelsea called the Brown Jug.  Check it out. You can also get great steak tips at the equally-local and arguably more famous Newbridge Cafe.  If you want to explore the general area, you can swing by Revere Beach, America’s first established Public Beach, and go extra local with a roast beef (with extra sauce, of course) from the original Kelly’s Roast Beef.
