Name: Lord Hobo Brewing Company

Location: Woburn, MA (or as some people call it, the Woo).

History: Lord Hobo is the name of one of the best beer bars in Cambridge (and by extension all of Greater Boston). Passionate about beer and the brewing process, the owner assembled a team to start expanding their brand and making their own beers. Lord Hobo’s facility in Woburn is less than a year old, enjoys a nice open space with barrel tables and free samples, and is dog-friendly. What’s not to like?

Recommended Brews: I’m willing to put this in writing: Hobo Life is, as of the time of this blog post, my favorite session IPA on the market. A perfect Citra sipper that pairs well with anything outdoors and also being the beer you drink after your first DIPA. Lord Hobo also recently dropped a galaxy hopped pale ale called Glorious. I was a big fan.

While you're in the area: For all you shopaholics, Woburn is next to Burlington, home of the Burlington Mall and one hundred and twenty seven other retail shops and restaurants. That number is an approximation, but personally I’d put the over/under right around there. Woburn is also home to my favorite Cajun/Tex-Mex mashup, the Border Cafe.

You’re also in striking distance of Lexington and Concord with all the rich history that comes with them, and there is plenty of good walking (and biking) to be done in those towns. If you are heading to Lexington, I can’t recommend Wilson Farm highly enough. Plan a fall visit if you can, because Wilson samples a full spread of homegrown Thanksgiving fixings - from their own poultry to homemade pies and cranberry sauce.
